This apparent Tufted Duck X Scaup was a great find near the Old Fort Erie waterfront parking lot by Walter Parker on the 3rd. Note the short, bushy crest and brownish smudge on white flanks.

The White-winged Scoter is the most frequently encountered scoter species within the BOS Study Area during the winter months. Ryan Griffiths photographed this individual on the 2nd at Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The Redpolls found by Joel Strong on the 7th continued into the next day when Nate Chu took this photo on the 8th. These birds have been feeding on alder cones.
