Adventures Colombia created a fantastic itinerary for 9 BOS members that took us from Barranquilla to Santa Marta to Perija and back to Bogota. During the two weeks, we collectively saw/heard 391 species of birds, many endemic or near-endemics. Here is a link to the trip report

Our guides from Adventures Colombia were Pablo Barrera and Luz Osorio, a dynamic team that coordinated our tour logistics effortlessly. We enjoyed much of the local cuisine and the spectacular scenery - especially in the Santa Marta Mountains at the Mountain House Lodge!
Avian highlights included Black-and-chestnut Eagle, Green-bearded Helmetcrest, Scarlet Ibis, several Antpittas, Perija Thistletail, Chestnut-breasted Chlorophonia, Santa Marta Blossomcrown, Northern Screamer, Andean Condor and Plushcap among many others. I am looking forward to going back to Colombia for a birding tour of the Central Andes, also known as the coffee region.
